Active holidays in the French Alps

During the summer holidays you can choose from numerous outdoor activities: kayaking, rafting, paragliding, tree climbing, pedal boats, via ferrata (mountain climbing), horse riding.

On the reservoir you can rent pedal boats and canoes for a pleasant hour of paddling. You can also take private surf lessons: between the mountains on the beautifully clear water of the Lac de Verney. For whitewater kayaking and rafting, you have to drive half an hour to the slightly higher starting places in the Veneon valley or the Romanche valley (La Grave): there are many possibilities.

There is an adventure tree climbing park in the neighboring village of Oz-en-Oisans: via rope ladders and wpml_nbsp ziplines children (but of course also fathers and mothers) can take easy or more difficult courses.

Interested in canyoning? Oz-en-Oisans offers you a guided descent in the Oz-canyon.

horse riding

Do you like horse riding? On the Col d’Ornon you will make a wonderful trip through the meadows, forests and rivers. Some experience is required.

In Vaujany there are beautiful tennis courts, which you can use for free. This is your chance to play a game with a view of the high mountains around.

Keen golfers will enjoy the Golf International de Grenoble. The golf course seems to be challenging and here too: a beautiful view over the mountains. According to experts, the restaurant is a must to have lunch.

There are several options for “via ferrata” in the area: mountain climbing via marked routes.

The Oisans region has some unique sites for paragliding. Not experienced? Take a duo flight with an instructor from Alpe d’Huez to Bourg d’Oisans.
